Keeping your financial information secure is one of our most important responsibilities. We believe that your privacy should not be compromised. Community Trust Bank, Inc. recognizes the sensitive nature of this information, and takes every precaution to ensure your privacy. At the same time, we want to offer you the array of financial products and services you need to accomplish your financial goals. We believe we can do both through the privacy policy outlined below.

This statement describes how we keep consumer information private. While our practices for commercial transactions, corporations, and organizations reflect the same concern for privacy, they are not necessarily the same as those outlined in this statement.

We collect only information that is needed to serve you and administer our business.

We collect, retain and utilize information about you to operate our business and to make products, services and other opportunities available to you. We obtain information in a variety of ways (for example, directly from you in applications, from your transactions or experiences with us, and from credit bureaus and other third parties).

In establishing a relationship with Community Trust, you are asked to share personal and financial information that we can use to help you reach your financial goals. In the course of that relationship, Community Trust will use the information to assist you in identifying the kinds of services you may want or need. Since the information you share with us is important to you, you can expect that we will protect the privacy and use of your nonpublic personal and financial information, such as details about your bank accounts and transactions. We are committed to protecting the privacy of the information we collect, use and share about you.

We carefully limit and control the sharing of your information.

  • Restrictions on the disclosure of account information
We do not reveal specific information about our customers' accounts or other personally identifiable data to nonaffiliated third parties for their independent use, unless (1) you have authorized it; (2) the information is provided to help complete a transaction initiated by you; (3) the information is provided to a reputable credit bureau or similar information reporting agency; or (4) disclosure is lawfully permitted or required; for example, in connection with litigation or fraud investigation.

  • Sharing information with companies that work with Community Trust
At times it is necessary to provide personally identifiable information about our customers to a third party, such as a vendor service company that we hire to provide support or services for one or more of our products. These vendors and service companies agree to safeguard our confidential customer information and they must abide by applicable law. So that we can serve you better, we may also share information with companies that perform marketing services on our behalf or to other financial institutions with whom we have joint marketing agreements. These companies work with us, and they must keep your information confidential. We will not sell information without your authorization.

  • Sharing information among Community Trust affiliates
To better serve your banking needs, we may share information about you among our affiliates as allowed by law (for example, information about your transactions and our experience with you).

Our strict policies for protecting customer information apply equally to active and inactive customers, as well as current and former customers.

You can rest assured that we limit who receives information and what type of information is shared. We share information only for legitimate business purposes, with the goal of bringing you greater convenience and more choices.

We are committed to bringing you the services you need to succeed financially. We will continue to contact you with offers of our products and services. You will continue to receive marketing messages via your statement(s), as well as telephone and direct mail offers, from us.
